I was listening to a podcast this morning and the pastor was talking about the favor of God and God assigned connections which led to answered prayer. I wondered, have I missed God assigned connections because I’ve been too busy? Have I been so rigid at the things I need to get done that I forget to lift my eyes from my to do list to see who God has placed right in front of me? Do I take the relationships I have for granted, rarely taking the time to just be with them? Have I missed moments?
Life is short and the older we get, the more acutely aware we become of the brevity of life. I’ve recently realized that in my head, I’m still 30, but my physical ages says something different. I’ve actually cried out to God, telling Him I don’t want to get old. I want to live! Psalm 92 tells us that even in our old age, we will still produce fruit and remain vital. God wants us to understand the brevity of life, so that we will grow in wisdom and live out our purpose. You may be young or you may be older, but if you want to live a life filled with vitality and zest, then it’s time to get up and grab hold of every minute you’ve been given. There are moments, God assigned connections there waiting for you. Look up from your list of to do’s. Look up from the television screen and Facebook page. Look up. In the end, all that really matters is God and the people He’s placed in your path. We all have an assignment. Young or old. I pray you go for your moments and not let one pass you by!
Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love,
so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives.
Give us gladness in proportion to our former misery!
Replace the evil years with good.
Let us, your servants, see you work again;
let our children see your glory.
And may the Lord our God show us his approval
and make our efforts successful.
Yes, make our efforts successful! Psalm 90:14-17
