Inconvenience precedes miracles. Think about it. When God wants to move you forward, when he wants to stretch you and do more in you and through you it usually looks like inconvenience.
“Inconvenience is an annoying occurrence that makes you go out of your way, like the inconvenience of a detour that takes you off your usual route. Something that doesn’t fit easily into your life, though it doesn’t cause suffering, either.”
Do you ever get annoyed with God because you know he’s asking you to do something, but you don’t want to so you argue with Him as if you think you can change his mind? That’s your decision making moment! I think Jesus was inconvenienced often. But it was in His inconvenience that miracles happened time and time again.
What if you make a conscious decision to allow God to inconvenience you?
Inconvenience is making the decision to do what is best for others at the expense of what is comfortable for you. Imagine what might happen if you just surrender, be obedient and willing to be uncomfortable!
Are you willing?
Don’t you ever wonder how God wants to use you? What miracles does he want to do through you? When you change your plans because someone needs your help, when you stop in the middle of what you are doing to be there for another person, God does miracles!
I encourage you to take the unusual inconvenient route today and watch and see what God will do!
When the apostles returned, they told Jesus everything they had done. Then he slipped quietly away with them toward the town of Bethsaida. But the crowds found out where he was going, and they followed him. He welcomed them and taught them about the Kingdom of God, and he healed those who were sick. Luke 9:10-11
