All this I observed as I tried my best to understand all that’s going on in this world. As long as men and women have the power to hurt each other, this is the way it is. Ecclesiastes 8:9
When do we say enough? Enough fighting. Enough anger. Enough selfishness. Enough! Does it not break your heart when you hear of another senseless murder or when you see war torn nations and people caught in the crossfire? Do you weep when you see our nation, caught in what seems to be an endless battle and barrage of words that stir more anger?
“How do we save a life pointing fingers? How can we end the fight this way?
When blame is the truth we’re preaching and lies are what we’re believing?
No one ever wins when the goal is to settle the score.” Ceasefire by King & Country
We have to say enough. We have to take a stand. We are the change and we can do something about this. We are the ones who stand between life and death. We are the ones who have a message of hope for the future. We are the ones that can, “one by one, rewrite the headlines”. I pray that a sense of urgency rise up in us and we have the courage to step in and say enough. Life is too short to waste one moment on anger and bitterness, pettiness and hurt that lashes out or worse yet destroys us from within.
It really does start with us. Let Jesus heal what lies in your heart that isn’t worthy of praise.
