This is so much easier said than done. We know as Christians we are to forgive, pray for and love those who hurt us. Sometimes don’t you just hate trying to figure stuff like this out? It is so much easier to ignore rather than confront. But God always intervenes…
It’s interesting that God is always in the midst of this dilemma, preparing your heart and working on you. Not the other person, but on you. You can spend years asking God to fix the other person so that they’ll come running to you, begging for your forgiveness…but I have never seen that happen…
You see, God wants you to be healed and whole, free and alive to live the life worthy of His call. And little by little He works on every detail so that you can be released from your hurt, allowing you to love others…even the person you used to hate.
When I cried out to God and said, Lord, what are you going to do with me? I don’t know how to pray for this person. He simply said, “I’m going to heal you. I’m going to mend your broken heart…I didn’t even know my heart was still broken. I know he wants to heal you as well.
How do you pray for someone you used to hate? You just do. God takes care of the rest. It is when I simply began to pray for this person, pray for their salvation, pray for their healing, pray for them to feel loved and forgiven, God began to do something in me. And that hate, anger and loss turned into love and compassion. I pray that you begin to pray for those who have hurt you so that God can heal your broken heart. God loves you, you know. More than anything! Have one amazing day!

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. Romans 6:26-27
