“I cannot carry all these people by myself; the burden is too heavy for me. If this is how you are going to treat me, please go ahead and kill me—if I have found favor in your eyes—and do not let me face my own ruin.” Numbers 11
As a leader, have you ever felt like this? Leading teams begins in that moment when you realize that you need help and you can’t do this alone. None of us can. That means we have to take the time to invest in people and raise up leaders. You can not do this on your own. Believe me, I’ve tried!
I tend to be bossy, and I like things done the right way. I come from a corporate background where I was always the owner or the boss, and I never had to function with a team. But, I’ve learned that you can have a team of leaders and still stand in the way. As leaders of teams, we have to get out of the way and let those we’ve invested in lead. If the burden is too great, it’s because you keep picking it up and carrying it.
This year at our Team Church Connections labs and round tables we’re going to talk about managing a volunteer army and building deep and wide teams. We hope you join us in the conversation as we learn together to build God’s great church! Get ready because it’s going to be great!! #movelifeforward #teamchurch #movechurchforward #lead #teams
