Just wondering this morning why people, Christians in particular, give priority to other things before Jesus? We all do it… there is a football game on TV or that we have tickets to, the kids have activities, we need our rest, we have a business…I get it. For so many years we were the same way and everything came before church, before prayer and devotion, Jesus was an afterthought. I believe that in the decision to put Jesus last our challenges are magnified and uncontrollable, our children struggle with school and peer pressure, self esteem, drugs and loss of self, and our nation slips away from the One who gave it all to us.
If we truly understand that in Him and through Him we have everything and without Him we have nothing, then the outpouring of our lives lived full on for Jesus will be evident to others, we would have hope in our challenges, turning in prayer and devotion to God and in turn our children would learn to trust and have faith in God rather than their peers. They would honor their mother and father and our nation…Our nation would rise up to once again build upon the rock and solid foundation of Jesus. There is no other. God has called you and me. It is time to stand up for Jesus. PRAY. Ask God for forgiveness and direction. In your humble prayer and devotion, He will respond and He will heal us and our land.
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16
Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have confessed so well before many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12
