It occurs to me that, in this election season, if God’s people would not lash out in anger with opinions that are just that and nothing more, but fall to our knees and pray, remembering that God is still on the throne and in control, He will hear our prayers and respond. Only God can heal our land. And the reality is, only God is in control. If you find fear rising up in you over the uncertainty of what the future holds, pray. He is the Prince of Peace. If you find anger rising up in you over the things that you can do nothing about, pray. He says He will lead you beside still waters and calm your anxious thoughts.
We are meant to be the light that reflects the love and wisdom of the only one who can do anything about the things that concern us. People are watching us and how we respond. I challenge all of us believers to pray. If we humble ourselves and pray, God will heal our land. Our prayers can shift the course of our nation.
For a child is born to us,
a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
And he will be called:
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
